Duty or dereliction of duty?
CORCAIGH (AAP) - Bain MacGowan of Port Lairge raised the question of whether councilors should step down from council if they wished to leave the county on non-council duty.
This came after Anto Capone, Master Director of Nox Noctis Gentis Obscurum (NNGO) and newly elected sheriff of An Mumhain, issued an open invitation to join his army in the pursuit of Bigjack. Bigjack is accused of having unlawfully appropriated thousands of pounds from the County of An Mumhain.
"If a Councilor is on council business, I have no problem with them keeping their jobs. But what about a councilor who just decides to go off on a personal vendetta that isn't council business? I call this dereliction of duty," stated Bain. The majority of those present were of similar opinion.
Anto Capone, however, had requested permission several months ago to embark on this mission. "I don't understand why I would need to step down for this particular instance, but if any mission would interfere with my duties I will be replaced as sheriff," stated Anto Capone.
Duke Caissadiplomat Morgan confirmed that the council was still in discussion on this issue and said, "If he leaves the county for even one day, he will be re-assigned. He is by far the most competent councilor as sheriff, so it would be a great loss."
