Martial law in Cumberland was declared and later renounced

LONDON (AAP) - The House of Parliament is in turmoil since the sudden decision of Her Royal Highness, Princess Regent Cruzincat Degas, to veto the Parliament's vote. However, a development in Cumberland was announced; a martial law was declared due to "a threat of criminals from the south and the rumours of an English Civil War", according to His Grace Dragonflame, Duke of Cumberland.

By Cumberland's declaration, the borders of Cumberland with Lancaster in the south and Scotland in the north will be closed till further notice. "It is now a capital offence to pass through the northern border or the southern border without a travel pass. Offenders will be consigned to death as per the Law," the duke proclaimed. Furthermore, he pointed that all military matters would come direct to him or Captain Hagman. The Cumberland Mountaineers have gone to "Full Red Alert" and started forming up in their town brigades, His Grace remarked.

However, less than 24 hours since the martial law was declared, His Grace decided to revoke it. In a public note, the Duke explained that "Thanks to a recent intelligence sweep and thanks to the guidance of the Dukes and Duchesses of England, it has been determined that the threats that vexed me and most my council was false." Therefore, His Grace Dragonflame has acknowledged that the closure of border was a consequence of misinformation. He has further said: "I would also like to thank personally the Lancaster Home Guard army under the command of Sonnie and the Knights of the Phoenix under General Aisafe who is stationed in Lancaster. Thanks to their bravery, I can admit that this terrible misunderstanding is a mistake. I hereby re-open the Southern Border and I apologize for any inconvenience and hurt caused by these actions of the past 12 hours."
