Wiltshire withdraws from the National English Army

LONDON (AAP) - Lady Arwen, Countess of Wiltshire, has announced the withdrawal of the county of Wiltshire from the National English Army (NEA), terminating their support and participation in the organisation.

Lady Arwen has expressed the consensus of Wiltshire's citizens and councillors concerning the NEA. "For the past few weeks, the Wiltshire Council and its citizens have been discussing its continued membership with the NEA. After the discussions had ended, it showed me that a clear majority of the citizens saw little or no benefit to be gained by continuing with the membership to NEA. I shall not even attempt to reiterate the points that have been hashed out by Stafford and Worcester, but only to say that their reasoning resonated soundly in the minds of Wiltshire’s majority population and Council."

Therefore, by seeing the lack of substantial action made by neither the House of Parliament nor HRH the Regent, a vote to leave the NEA was held, and eventually passed. According to Lady Arwen, Wiltshire council had already begun searching for alternative plans for defence, cooperating with other counties. However, Lady Arwen claims that they acknowledge the consequences of their decision and the way it might be interpreted. "We also acknowledge the fact that our brothers, sisters, and friends may feel betrayed, but want to exhort them into understanding that this is only a step forward to finding a better system that shall work better for all of us since the NEA has not worked very well for the past year and was getting in the way of any true progress. We have chosen a path, but what we truly have done is ensure that we are now open to learning from the past and the opening of our minds that would enable us in finding a better alternative that shall protect all of us as a whole."

This act is made while a vote to disband the NEA and rewrite its charter is being held in the House of Parliament, though it hasn't been concluded yet.
